It seems that the RZA is an avid chess player, when he’s not slayin’ suckas in the Shaolin. He recently started up his own online chess network — WuChess.com

Rich people hobbies…

I personally have always thought that a lot of people (almost all of whom make WAY more money than I do) work much too hard to actually enjoy it. As it turns out, according to a study reported in the Washington Post this is pretty much the case…

Take care to notice the activities that are listed as rich people leisure activities: “shopping, child care and exercise”.

Okay, I realize I’m not rich and I’m not big on shopping or exercise… but child care!?!? Seriously, who’s out there making $100,000+, getting off their 50+ hour work week and is like… “Let me go raise some children in my spare time”.

Any chance that the reason there’s a stigma against “rich kids” is because their parents think of them as a hobby??

Maybe this explains all the commercials on TV about bringing your office with your everywhere… of course rich people don’t watch that much TV, so all it’s accomplishing is make poor folks jealous or confused.

Expensive gas… good?

So I read this article this morning that outlines all of the reasons why $8-a-gallon gas would be a good thing for America.

It’s a pretty insightful article (bruckin it up for the common folk!!) and actually provides a small glimmer of hope for the future.

On the other hand, it simultaneously implies that pretty much the only way Americans are going to give a shit about how awful and destructive cars really are is to make them prohibitively expensive to operate. While probably true… it’s still a little sad.

On a side note: What have I been saying for over a year now? Tax the shit out of Hummer owners… why? ‘Cause fuck them! That’s why! Maybe if we make driving big-ass gas-guzzling pollute-o-mobiles as harmful to consumers’ wallets as they are to the world at large we’d get some people to wake the fuck up!!
